Fun Thirty-One Party Halloween Game

Here’s a really fun game to play at your Thirty-One home shows!

I’ll post the details below! I did this at my last party, so you get to see it live and how much fun they have with it!

Pumpkin Drawing Game:

Here’s the details! I print this and take to my party to read right from the paper:

You’ll want to take a piece of paper for each person and make sure everyone has a PEN!

October Party Game

Have them close their eyes and give them a piece of paper and pen and tell them these steps:

  1. Draw a pumpkin in the center of your page
  2. Put some bats above the pumpkin
  3. Draw a moon in the upper left corner
  4. Oops! Please put eyes and a nose on your pumpkin
  5. Put a spider web in the lower right hand corner
  6. Did I ask you to put a stem on top of your pumpkin? Please do that now!
  7. Draw some bones below your pumpkin
  8. Draw a ghost on your paper
  9. Please draw a witches broom on the left of the pumpkin
  10. Oh yes please put a spider in that web
  11. And now…let’s draw a witches hat on TOP of your pumpkin’s head!

Points scored as follows:

3 points if your pumpkin is in the middle of the page

1 point for every bat

2 points if the moon is in the left corner

2 points for the nose and each eye that is on the pumpkin

2 points if the web is in the lower right corner

4 points for the stem on top of the pumpkin

1 point for each bone

2 points if you drew eyes on your ghost

2 points if the broom is to the left of the pumpkin

5 points if the spider is in the web

10 points if your witches hat is actually on top of your pumpkins head

Give a gift to the guest with the most points.

Thirty-One Halloween Dice Booking Game

So the dice booking game has been one of the BEST games I’ve ever played at a home show.

So each holiday I try and incorporate it in a different and fun way.

I was at the Dollar Tree and found these adorable tins (4 to a pack) and grabbed a pack of Halloween sticker at the Dollar Tree to stick on the lid!

Halloween Booking Game Thirty-One

Here I took 2×4 labels

traced the tin on the label

cut around the inside of the circle

and placed the sticker on the bottom of the tin.

*I’m going to add a piece of Halloween candy to the tin. First person to get that # also gets the candy:)

Here’s the video on the wording for the Dice Booking Game and what I do for prizes:

It is VERY important that you use these exact #’s for the prize boxes. Someone out there has done the statistics of how many times a # was likely to be rolled. So, for instance, the #2 was the least rolled #. So you’re going to want to put your Grand Prize in that box!

#2- Grand Prize

#3 and #4- Prizes

#’s 5-9 are Book a Show

#’s 10-12 are prizes

What do you give away as the prizes?:

~key fobs

~$5 off your order

~free customer special (only if it’s cheap)

~Pick a prize (have a prize box with lots of little goodies from your company-key fobs, nail files, things from dollar bins at Target. etc)

What happens if two people get the same number?:

Nothing! When someone rolls the dice and gets their number, they open the box and see what their prize is. And then they put the box back on the tray! So it’s ok if someone rolls the dice and gets the same number.

How does this compare to my purse booking game?:

I will use them BOTH! They are both equally effective when it comes to booking. However, I like this matchbook dice booking game because I don’t have to switch out the prizes or anything. They just stay in the box. It’s cheap, but it’s adorable and kind of irresistible, so they can’t stand not to play!

The biggest time consumption I had with the purse game is that I had to change out the slips in them. And with 20 purses, it is sometimes a chore. Effective, but a chore.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Making Connections at Your Thirty-One Home Shows

Making a connection with your customers at the home show can make or break MANY things!

I want to show you really quickly how to increase sales, bookings, and even recruiting at your Thirty-One home parties. Take a look at this quick video:

So there you go! How EASY is that?

Take these little hand sanitizers, I got mine in a 3 pack at the Dollar Tree:

1
picture url

You slap a business address label on the back and now you’re giving each guest something they will NOT throw away that has your contact information on it.

By asking them these three questions:

  1. How do you know the hostess

2. What’s your occupation

3. and…do you have any kids

You’re making a CONNECTION. You’re making a connection that will help you:

  1. be able to SERVE her
    • If she’s a nurse, what bag would be GREAT for her?
  2. help you with having a conversation with you
    • Maybe you find a common thread. I used to be a nurse. Where do you work? Oh really, do you know so and so…
  3. help YOU to remember her
    • when you START with a conversation, you connect the dots. You’ll remember who she is
  4. find some common ground to even START a conversation with her
    • You said your son is in baseball…so is mine!
  5. figure out a conversation starter for a booking
    • So…you just moved into a new house? You would probably love to host a party, show off the new house, and get some great new organizing products for FREE for your new house. Or…baseball is SO expensive. Have you ever thought about doing a fundraiser?

Make it a point to TRY this at your next home show. And don’t forget to introduce YOURSELF the same way they do. So THEY make a connection to YOU!

Happy Partying ladies!

Thirty-One Home Party Idea

I’m going to use this at my home shows to show off the Oh Snap Pockets and Bins!

I really don’t think people buy them as much as they would if they could SEE them in action! So we’re going to make it happen.

And then we’re going to try and increase sales by showing them my favorite products in use with the MAGNETS on the board!

I took a magnetic board. $7 at Walmart.
I took a magnetic curtain rod. $7 at Walmart.

I took a sticky magnet page and photo sleeve magnets and printed a few of my FAVORITE ways to use our product! Now I don’t just TALK about, they get to SEE! And I can actually take the magnets off and pass them around if I’m talking about it!

But that’s not even the coolest PART!!

When I’m ready to talk about oh snap pockets and bins, I just snap the magnetic curtain rod on!!! BAM! I think by them SEEING how the pockets and bins work, and seeing my favorite uses at the party…ill be able to make a bigger impact on why they NEED it!!
I’ll be using at my home shows all month and let you know how it goes!!

Help Non-profit Organizations by GIVING BACK in Your Direct Sales Business

This year, I have a huge focus on giving back to my community. I have been working on ways to use my Thirty-One business to make the world a better place. Because my mom taught me that one person really can change the world. And of course I didn’t believe her, but I was listening…

The one thing she always said that sticks with me daily, is “You never know what moment will change a person’s life forever”. And I’m living/walking proof of that statement, so it’s my mission to spread my mother’s heart well past her own physical reach. And thus…SHE has made a huge impact on the world. And proof that one person really CAN change the world and create a domino effect.

Couple life lessons from my mother (very smart lady) that I didn’t listen to until I actually moved out. Those kind of lessons that you HEAR as a child, but don’t even know that she’s embedding those lessons into your soul until your grown and screaming it at your own kids. LOL

One…every holiday, she would make more food than we could possibly eat. Then she would spend 2 hours driving around delivering food to people she knew that were spending that holiday alone. And it was like pulling teeth to get me to go. But she made me. And I’m glad she did. Because she taught me a very valuable lesson. If you’re able to give…GIVE. If you’re able to make one small change (just make a little extra food), and reach out to someone who needs a little TLC. Those random acts of kindness are something I do, and involve my kids in, OFTEN.

Two…every winter she would go buy coats and drag me around delivering coats to the homeless or mentally ill that we would see on the side of the road. You know…you get to know their faces around town. And I worked at a theater on Main St. so I definitely knew their faces, and even talked to some of them. This guy Curt would come into my work everyday and ask me what time it was, he carried a stopwatch. If you told him a different time than he had, he would argue with you. So I learned very quickly to say, “I don’t Curt, what time you got?” Anyways…side rant…he got a coat from my dear mom on a couple of occasions. Lesson learned…be thankful for what you have, and help others who are less fortunate than you. Because that is what is asked of us from the Man above, right?

Luke 12:48 (KJ21)

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

So this is what I have decided to do this year, thanks Mom 😉

So the first way I’ve incorporated giving back to my community is this:

My friend Melanie Moore shared the Death by Chocolate game withe me. And I of course, shared that with all of you. If you haven’t seen it, check it out here:

So I took that game, and I am making a series of games like THIS…that I will use at my parties to collect things to donate to local charities. So for instance, here is my latest, the Non-perishable Food game.

You tell your hostess to call all her guests the night before her party and ask them to bring one non-perishable food item to the party. And that someone will be earning a prize.

Here’s a picture you can send her in a text, and she can also text it to all of her guests:

canned goods

This, of course, is to 1) give your hostess a reason to reach out to all her guests and give them a reminder of her party. And what does that do for you? Increases attendance and peaks their curiosity about the party. 2) This is a great icebreaker for your party 3) Gives an opportunity for you to be able to introduce the fact that you’re using your own business to give back. Your integrity and trust level just went up 10 points with your guests. WIN/WIN.

Here is the link to the file, but the picture is below: http://1drv.ms/1LloOMe

So here it is:

Canned Good Game-jpg

Now…you have planted some booking seeds, some recruiting seeds, AND…you’re doing something great for your community.

I will be making a series of these games to share. We will be doing old shoes, old purses, coats, slacks, and various other items that we can donate locally to help our own community! And I will be sure to share them all here.

So, the second way I have decided to give back in my own community is this (also an idea from my wonderful friend Melanie Moore):

Each month, the first person to book a home show in a particular month, gets to choose which non-profit organization that 10% of my own personal sales will go to. Now, you don’t have to do 10%, you could even do 5%. But here’s the idea:

1. Put a cap on it. So…up to $350 a month is my cap right now. But my business is BOOMING, and that is do-able for me.

2. When you donate to a non-profit organization, it is tax-deductible. Wouldn’t you rather give your money to a non-profit organization than Uncle Sam? Heck yeah, I’m all over it! Just make sure they have a 501-C3, and are a TRUE non-profit organization. And make sure you keep receipts for each donation.

3. When you donate, make sure you tag that organization, and maybe even all your hostesses, when you announce the donation on social media. This allows for everyone to see that your hostesses and customers are part of something much bigger! And who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

1

4. I’m a marketing strategist. And this is no different. Make sure you’re tagging and HASHtagging on Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram. Hashtag key words like your city name and the organization. See the picture above for an example.

5. There are rules on donations for businesses. So make sure you talk to your tax peeps and find out the CAP on tax-deductible donations. Because there is one.  I’ve always been told $5,000 is the rule of thumb. But I found this website that says up to 20% of your income. So make sure you ASK and do your research!

6. This is doing something great, but it’s also a booking and recruiting tool for you if you use it wisely. It’s getting your name out into the community. You’re meeting new people dealing with these new organizations (go in person to deliver these whenever possible).

7. At your parties, after the game, this gives you the opportunity to tell your guests hat you’re doing with the items. And that is a GREAT way to introduce yourselves and your business to your guests, don’t you think?

So, I hope this inspire you to do something GREAT this year! To give back and do something special for your business and for others. And if there is something that YOU do to give back…please share!! I’m always looking for new ways to do BIG things! Cause we’re all #BetterTogether

Death by Chocolate, Thirty-One hostess coaching and party game

So here is something SO fun and SO effective to do at your next home party!

My friend Melanie Moore shared this idea with me. It’s called Death by Chocolate.

And this is a hostess coaching “trick”. So you call your hostess 24 hours before the party. You say, “I need you to call everyone and tell them they need to bring a candy bar. Doesn’t matter what kind, but they HAVE to bring one. And there’s a prize involved that they don’t want to miss!”. You can even send a text picture with this information that she could send a reminder RIGHT BEFORE the party the next day!

Now, I have a video below explaining too, but the guests earn POINTS for different things. So, like, if yours has nuts in it-you get 5 points. If yours has caramel in it you get 3 points, etc.

Now, the person with the most points at the end, gets ALL the chocolate bars! And everyone wishes them weight gain and chocolate induced acne, right?

But the great thing about this (besides the fact that it’s FUN and involves chocolate), is that it’s giving your hostess a REASON to call and remind her guests about the party!!! And that is the most important thing!

So when you have guests book, you’ll want to change up the game for next time. And here are some things we’ve been throwing around. My good friend Christina Rupracht shared the potato game with me. Same thing: points for: home grown, had to get one from hostess, point for each “eye”, color of potato, etc.

And Christina and I came up with a few more ideas we’re tossing around. Bring a cup (coffee, tumbler, handle, color, size-all different things to give points for). She has one for toilet paper.

And then we were talking about doing donation ones!

So bring a can of food (donate to local food bank)

Bring something you never wear anymore that you would wear to an interview (donate to dress for success)

Bring an old purse you don’t use anymore (donate to dress for success)

The possibilities are endless with this game. And as I come up with the point systems and new ideas, I’ll be sure to post them here on my blog for everyone.

Happy Hostess Coaching!!

Watch this video for a really good explanation of it:
